SAVE THE HEN

Fighting to keep Seattle’s last true honky-tonk, and all its stories,  alive.

Facing Eviction.

But Fighting Back.

The Little Red Hen has been served a notice to vacate by July 31, 2025 despite having a valid lease agreement. The owners are currently in legal proceedings to challenge this, but time is running short.

In response, “Save The Hen” was launched as a community-led effort protect The Little Red Hen and share your stories so everyone knows why this place matters! It is more than just a bar — it’s a community, a true “third space”, and living piece of Seattle culture.

We’ve launched a petition to help protect “The Hen”. The petition urges reconsiderations of the eviction order, grant landmark designation status, and allow The Little Red Hen to continue operating while disputes are resolved.

Note: We are not involved in The Little Red Hen’s business or legal matters. We’re simply a community-led effort to share stories and advocate for its future.

Since the 1930s, The Little Red Hen has been one of Seattle’s most iconic Venues. It is the city’s oldest country Music Venue.

The Little Red Hen not only offers live music, but also two-stepping lessons, bluegrass jams, open mics and a rare sense of welcome for dancers, musicians, and music lovers of all kinds.

This is one of the only places in Seattle where you can walk in on any night of the week, hear a live band, join a dance floor full of smiling strangers, and feel like you belong. And it may soon be gone.
