FAQ

  • I just saw an article saying the Hen received a 30-day extention. Is that true?

Thank you Seattle Times for the article, and to The Little Red Hen community for your support. We believe the outpouring of love for LRH played a role this extension. However, to our understanding, the extension is contingent on the business owner entering good-faith lease negotiations by August 4th. While we are not involved in the legal or lease discussions, we hope that both parties can come to a positive resolution.

  • Is The Hen saved? I see The Little Red Hen has events released beyond July 31st.

We are not aware of a resolution between the business owner and landlord. Through the business owner’s statement, he intends to continue business beyond July 31st. While we cannot speak to the legal matters between the business and landlord, we’ve loved seeing The Little Red Hen full every night, and encourage people to keep showing up and supporting while it’s still open.

Note: This information is based on public sources and statements. We’re simply encouraging community support for a business that remains open at this time.

  • What does the petition do?

Our community petition is a way for our community to show strong, unified support for saving The Little Red Hen. By gathering signatures, we’re raising awareness that The Little Red Hen matters, and not just as a business, but as a gathering place and cultural hub. We hope the petition can influence key parties to reach a resolution to ensure The Little Red Hen can stay in its current Green Lake location. The more people who sign, the louder our collective voice becomes.

  • Where are donations going?

Donations are used exclusively for organizing efforts: flyers, printing, volunteer parking, website maintenance, and other outreach-related expenses.

No funds are being directed to the business side of The Little Red Hen.

  • How can the community help?

Keep sharing our petition! We do volunteer call outs via email. Please join our mailing list. If you have specific resource help, email savethehen@gmail.com.
